Apple Vision Pro: First hands-on impressions offer closer look at Apple’s next big thing

The Apple Vision Pro headset has already been in the hands of some media personnel and guests attending WWDC 2023 at Apple Park, who are already sharing their first impressions of Apple’s lavish new product.

Due to its price, the regular performance of its current rivals such as Meta or HTC, and how unpredictable the virtual reality market has been, the headset has generated mixed reactions following its reveal earlier today. Unfortunately, there is no date on when we will get our hands on the Vision Pro and make our conclusions; the only thing we have for now are the comments from the attendees at the event who have already been able to try it out.

The prolific YouTuber Marques Brownlee said he spent 30 minutes with the headset and was impressed “with a few specific things.”

Another YouTuber, Dave Lee, said that the Vision Pro “has some next-level build quality” and shared a headset video.

Andrew Freedman, a colleague from Tom’s Hardware, didn’t share his hands-on impressions with the device. Still, he did share some pictures in which we can see Apple Vision Pro’s design, including the Digital Crown, strap, display, and every headset angle, except the inside — which, apparently, Apple didn’t allow to be photographed.

Ross Young, the trustable source for all things displays, said that it was an “impressive product launch” and said that he’s “not surprised” by the price because “the display costs amount to more than 10% of the price”.

The headset is the first major new product category from Apple since the Apple Watch and is a hallmark of Tim Cook’s legacy at the company’s helm. Apple Vision Pro will go on sale for a hefty $3,499 next year and be available in the United States at launch.
