Apple today began releasing the third beta for iOS 17.2 to registered developers. The third beta comes one week after the company released iOS 17.2 beta 2. A public version of this beta is expected sometime this week.
iOS 17.2 is set to introduce a few new features across the board. The first beta finally saw the introduction of the Journal app as Apple promised it would be released before the end of the year. The update also expands the functionality of the iPhone 15 Pro’s Action button with the introduction of a new Translate option.
The second iOS 17.2 beta also introduced the ability to record Spatial Video on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Spatial Video is recorded stereoscopically through the iPhone 15 Pro’s main and ultrawide cameras, where it can later be viewed as 3D video on Vision Pro.

How to install iOS 17.2 beta 3
Last March, Apple introduced a new method to install betas. Now, devices enrolled with a linked Apple Developer Program account or those who signed up with their Apple ID on Apple Developer will see a new menu under Settings -> General -> Software Update that allows users to opt into receiving beta updates. Devices that aren’t enrolled and linked to an Apple Developer account won’t see the menu and therefore aren’t able to install any new beta.
We will keep this article updated with any additional changes that we find in the third beta of iOS 17.2, including references to new features or unreleased products.
