A former Apple software engineer has been found guilty of threatening 2 FBI agents by a jury in Santa Cruz, according to Kron4.

Brian Broderick, 32 contacted the FBI several times between 2021 and 2022 to report allegations against Apple, as he believed they were spying on him. He later emailed two FBI agents warning that he was “literally hunting the idiot traitor” and threatened them by saying “You act on this in … 24 hours, or I go beyond taking your livelihood.”

According to December 2021 court filings by the Santa Cruz Police Department, an anonymous Apple employee allegedly alerted the department that Brian was sending “aggressive e-mails and text messages to Apple employees regarding his belief that Apple was spying on him and had a conspiracy against him.” according to Santa Cruz Sentinel. The police department was seeking a firearms restraining order against the former employee facing the charges following his threats.

Brian also posted a video to his YouTube channel in Alabama taking photos of FBI office vehicles. Apple was granted a 3-year restraining order against Broderick on grounds of harassment on December 27th 2021.

Police detective Elizabeth Howard-Gibbon wrote in an affidavit “l believe Mr. Broderick is showing behaviors consistent with an individual going through an emotional crisis.” Broderick is set to appear for his sentencing hearing on June 24th, where he could potentially receive a maximum prison term of five years.
