Apple this week announced WWDC 2024 will take place from Monday, June 10th until June 14th. The first day of the conference includes a primetime keynote with major announcements and updates to Apple’s software. This year is no different, with the keynote on Monday, June 10th set to include the announcement of iOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and a heavy focus on Apple’s approach and implementation of AI.
Recent reporting has suggested iOS 18 will be one of Apple’s biggest updates ever to iOS, placing high expectations for the next version of the iPhone’s operating system. The last major release of iOS was iOS 7 in 2013. iOS 7 was a complete overhaul of the design language of iOS, but despite the introduction of new widgets and user interface changes across the system, the design of iOS has stayed relatively the same ever since.
iOS 18 Coverage
There could be a sign that iOS 18, however, could match iOS 7’s significance in Apple’s history. As noticed on X (formerly Twitter), the last time Apple held WWDC starting on June 10th was in 2013, with the release of iOS 7. All WWDC dates since have been either earlier or later in June, such as June 6th and June 13th.
Fun fact: The only time in Apple’s history that they announced a new iOS version on June 10th was at WWDC 2013, with iOS 7.#WWDC24 is on June 10th.

Whether a pure coincidence or a result of Apple’s methodical planning, WWDC 2024 is set up to be Apple’s time to shine in AI. For months, reports have highlighted Apple’s growing ambition to include more AI features in the next round of operating system releases. Apple has started to more aggressively market AI and recently purchased a Canadian AI startup.
In a post this week, Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak “Joz”, wrote that WWDC 2024 is going to be “Absolutely Incredible,” conveniently only capitalizing the two words to abbreviate AI. As WWDC 2024 moves closer, we’re likely to hear more about what Apple has planned, and Supercharged will have full coverage of all of it.
