Directions on the Lock Screen for Apple Maps will get an updated look in iOS 17 this June, according to a tweet from @analyst941.
Changing the current lock screen with full-screen directions will bring a hybrid look that retains the date and time on the upper third of the display with the directions and map in the lower two-thirds, according to the source.
Additionally, the flashlight, camera controls, and the number of notifications remain at the bottom of the display, if the images shared on Twitter are to be believed. When the notifications are tapped, the map remains in the background with a blur, and notification bars sit above.
