Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad are now available on the App Store. First announced two weeks ago, the apps are now available for download on compatible models running iPadOS 16.4 and later.

Final Cut Pro for iPad brings an innovative suite of tools that empowers video creators to seamlessly record, edit, complete, and distribute their content using a single, portable device. The apps are available as separate subscriptions priced at $4.99 per month or $49 per year, with a one-month free trial.

Final Cut Pro for iPad

The all-new touch interface of Final Cut Pro features exciting additions like the Magnetic Timeline, a jog wheel, and intuitive multi-touch gestures. The introduction of the innovative Live Drawing feature allows users to directly draw and write on video content using Apple Pencil.

iPad Pro models powered by the M2 chip bring the added convenience of Apple Pencil hover functionality, enabling users to swiftly navigate through footage without making contact with the screen. Moreover, creators utilizing the iPad Pro’s 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR display can take advantage of Reference Mode for precise color grading.

With pro camera mode, the iPad empowers video creators to capture high-quality videos – including ProRes on iPad Pro with the M2 chip – in both portrait and landscape orientations, offering complete control over focus, exposure, and white balance. Additionally, creators can monitor audio levels and take advantage of Multicam video editing, effortlessly switching between different angles with a simple touch gesture. Leveraging the power of machine learning, Final Cut Pro enables swift editing tasks such as fast cutting, scene removal, and auto-cropping to accommodate various aspect ratios.

Logic Pro for iPad

With an extensive set of tools, producers have everything necessary to manipulate and refine samples in Logic Pro. The innovative Beat Breaker feature enables creators to reshape sounds by swiping and pinching, while the pitch-morphing plug-in adds further flexibility. The mixer provides a comprehensive solution for professional-level mixing on the tablet, offering channel strips, volume faders, pan controls, sends, and precise automation capabilities.
